Christianity Explored Ministries, North America
Remote (U.S.-based) ยท Full-time ยท Reports to CEO, Americas ยท Travel: approximately monthly
Christianity Explored exists to help people meet Jesus in the pages of Scripture. Thousands of churches worldwide use our resources to help people explore the life, death, and resurrection of Christ in a clear, compelling, and relational manner. We aim to equip churches, Christian-owned businesses, and individuals to foster a culture of evangelism that is both biblical and sustainable.
More than 500,000 people in North America have gone through a Christianity Explored course, and our materials are used in over 140 countries and 70 languages. This is a significant moment for the ministry. A new edition of our flagship course has just been released, our global team is expanding, and our four-year plan for North America is accelerating quickly.
Delivering that plan will require a substantial increase in the funding available to us and someone whose full attention is on the people and institutions who make the work possible.
The Development Manager oversees the day-to-day fundraising for Christianity Explored in North America. The role sits at the intersection of three things: managing a portfolio of donor relationships, running the calendar and campaigns that keep those relationships active, and directly asking people to give.
This person will work across every part of our funding base, including monthly and recurring donors, one-time givers, churches, high-capacity individuals, and grant-making foundations. They will build outreach strategies in HubSpot, execute them, and make the ask. They will own the annual development calendar and hold the rest of the organization to it.
This is a growth role. We are not looking for someone to maintain what already exists.
A clear picture of who currently funds Christianity Explored in North America, where the gaps are, and a working draft of the development calendar for the year ahead. Specific targets will be set jointly once you have had time to get to know the ministry and we have had time to get to know you.
Two things matter most. First, giving has grown. Second, donors are consistently and thoughtfully being asked. A well-organized development function that never quite gets to the ask has not succeeded.
We care more about aptitude, character, and fit than about a particular resume. That said, the following describes the person we expect to thrive in this role.
Grant writing experience is helpful but not essential. We are prepared to develop that skill in the right person.
