Helping those around us find life that lasts

As Easter approaches, hundreds of churches will be setting aside time to run special evangelistic events as part of the nationwide Life 22 mission, which has been organised by the team at A Passion for Life. The aim is to create opportunities to engage with people in our communities who wouldn’t usually come to church.

One of the most crucial aspects of any mission is to create good opportunities for people who come along to continue investigating after the mission is over. We’re delighted that many of the churches involved in A Passion for Life will be offering Hope Explored courses afterwards. If that’s you, do take advantage of the promotional downloads on our website, from our official trailer to free invitations and posters.

If you haven’t yet planned your mission, the good news is that Life 22 isn’t just for Easter! Events will be running throughout the year, at times to suit different congregations, and there’s still plenty of time to get involved. This week Le Fras Strydom, Operations Lead for A Passion for Life, explains how to join in.

Helping those around us find life that lasts | Le Fras Strydom

1 John 1:3 We proclaim to you what we have seen and heard, so that you also may have fellowship with us. And our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ.

This invitation from the apostle John – to come into relationship with the one true God through His Son Jesus – an invitation based on the finished words and works of Jesus – is in fact our invitation to the people of the United Kingdom.

We have accepted the testimony of the apostles. We have put our trust in Jesus. We have been forgiven and brought into a living relationship with God the Father and with His Son.

And now it is our joy to say to family, friends, neighbours, and colleagues – come and join us.

Life ’22 is a nationwide mission beginning in March 2022

750 churches are already connected.

Life ’22 will rely on grassroots, local church evangelism.

In fact, it relies on individual Christians connecting with the people around them, in order to help them journey towards faith in Christ.

Our evangelistic efforts will be supported by ‘Life’ branded evangelistic and promotional resources, and a central online campaign.

How will the central campaign work?

APFL

1. Life branded resources

Engaging evangelistic resources, promotional materials and all our social media activity will invite the people of the United Kingdom to “Find life that lasts”.

2. Findlifethatlasts.com

This activity will point to findlifethatlasts.com – a brand new website that will have some light evangelistic content and encourage people to connect with our church communities and events.

3. Our churches

Your church can write a short promo and link to the appropriate page on your website where you promote your Life ’22 events or other evangelistic opportunities.

You can submit your church details or find out where to get hold of all these resources at www.apassionforlife.org.uk/life22

How can I get involved?

  • Be equipped – the training videos help all of us make progress in making Jesus known. Watch these in your own time or download to share them at church.
  • Be resourced – Get a ‘Life bulb’ in your window as a conversation starter, get hold of gospels and tracts to hand out.
  • Step out – Life ’22 will help but won’t reach your friends for you. Pray, and may the Lord grant us love and confidence to speak about Jesus.

How can my church get involved?

  • Pray – whether joining the central prayer events or rallying the church family to prayer, let’s be crying out to God together.
  • Be available – even if you are not running specific events, we welcome all churches who align on our statement of faith to feature on findlifethatlasts.com. Show those in your community that your doors are open to them.
  • Promote – whether promoting your own events or the mission as a whole, the more churches who get involved the more visible the invitation to find Life!

1 John 1:4 We write this to make our joy complete.

May we know the joy of making Jesus known in 2022.
